Applications are now open for the Journalist of the Year Award 2024 . The One Young World Journalist of the Year award was created in 2020 to identify and promote five of the world's most impactful journalists, changing the way stories are reported and having a positive global impact.
In an age of mass information and disinformation, the role of journalists is more important than ever. Our societies rely on the core values of journalism - truthfulness and objectivity - to stay informed and shape opinions. One Young World believes that the next generation of young journalists is key to creating powerful and meaningful change, providing the essential means to ensure that freedom of expression and the defence of rights are upheld fairly in all regions of the world.

The prize will be awarded to the three winners at the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada, which will take place from 18 to 21 September 2024.

Eligibility
- Open to impactful journalists who change the way stories are reported and have a positive global impact.
- Candidates can come from anywhere in the world.
Selection process
- The award winners will be chosen by an international panel of judges with direct experience in journalism. Their decisions will be based on the work the young journalists have done in their countries and communities and its benefits and impact on young people.
