Deadline: 13 September 2024
Registration is now open for the second round of the iF Social Impact Award 2024 . The iF Social Impact Award supports projects that contribute to improving society. If you work to achieve one or more of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, your project is eligible.
All submissions must be aligned with the UN's 15 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- Poverty Free: Since 1990, extreme poverty rates have been reduced by 50%. But one in five people in developing regions still lives on less than 1.90 dollars a day.
- Zero Hunger: It's time to rethink the way we grow, share and consume our food if we want to nourish the 795 million people who go hungry today.
- Good health and well-being: Sustainable development depends on ensuring healthy lives. More efforts are needed to increase life expectancy.
- Quality education: Basic literacy skills have improved tremendously, but bolder efforts are needed to achieve the goals of universal education.
- Gender equality: Equality for women and girls is not only a fundamental human right, but will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies in general.
- Drinking Water and Sanitation: Due to poor infrastructure, millions of people die from diseases associated with inadequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene.
- Affordable and Clean Energy: The goal is universal access to modern energy services, greater efficiency and more renewable energy sources.
- Decent Work and Economic Growth: The creation of quality jobs will continue to be a major challenge for almost all economies in the future.
- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: Without technology and innovation, industrialisation will not happen, and without industrialisation, development will not happen.
- Reduced inequalities: To reduce inequality, policies must be universal in their attention to the needs of disadvantaged and marginalised populations.
- Sustainable Cities and Communities: Cities enable people to progress socially and economically, but some cities face congestion, a shortage of adequate housing and declining infrastructure.
- Responsible Consumption and Production: Responsible consumption and production aims to "do more and better with less", resource and energy efficiency and access to a better quality of life for all.
- Climate Action: Climate change is currently affecting every country on every continent, disrupting national economies and affecting lives.
- Life below water: Careful management of this essential global resource is a key feature of a sustainable future.
- Life on Earth: Forests cover 30% of the Earth's surface and are key to combating climate change, protecting biodiversity and the homes of the indigenous population.
