Registration is now open for the Globethics Youth Leadership Award 2024 . Globethics' vision is to promote ethical leadership for a just, inclusive and sustainable world. The first Globethics Youth Leadership Awards is launched in its 20th anniversary year to promote this vision for the next 20 years by recognising, honouring and empowering young leaders from around the world who strive for ethical and positive change in their community, institution, society, nation, region or even globally.

Young leaders who have designed and implemented initiatives that have produced real and proven social impact and positive change in areas related to one or more of the four Globethics priorities are invited to apply for the Globethics Youth Leadership Award. Winning the Globethics Youth Leadership Award would allow the winners to develop and build on their initiatives.

Globethics' four priorities are:

  • Priority 1: Ethics and Standards in Higher Education.
  • Priority 2: Ethics of Sustainability and Environmental Justice.
  • Priority 3: Ethics of Digital and Emerging Technologies.
  • Priority 4: Ethics of Inclusive Peace and Responsible Governance.

The prizes

  • The award winners will receive recognition for their pioneering work and financial and mentoring support to improve and multiply the results of their project.
    • 1st prize: US$ 15,000
    • 2nd prize: US$ 10,000
    • 3rd prize: US$ 5,000
  • The three finalists will then be invited to present at the Global Ethics Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, which will take place from 2 to 4 September 2024.
  • All the winners will also benefit from the support of a mentor for nine months.

Eligibility

  • Applicants are individuals or members of a group aged between 18 and 30 by the application deadline, from anywhere in the world.
  • They can be individuals or a group. In the case of a group application, a representative of the group would submit the application and possibly present themselves on behalf of the group.
  • They are the creators of your initiative and responsible for its implementation.

Selection criteria

In addition, the winners of the Prize will be selected by the jury on the basis of criteria that include,

  • Contribution to achieving one or more Globethics priorities;
  • Proven change made as a result of your initiative;
  • Innovation in problem solving;
  • Inclusive approach;
  • Scalability and replicability.

Application

Applicants must complete the application form and send supporting documents, including photo ID, a concept note on the initiative, a link to a 2-minute video presenting the initiative and two letters of reference supporting the application.
