Applications are now open for the Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award 2024 . The Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award honours an individual between the ages of 18 and 30 who has made a significant contribution to the goal of ending extreme poverty.
The Award was created by Cisco and Global Citizen to recognise and value a young person who has a positive impact on the world, demonstrate the impact young people are having on achieving the United Nations Global Goals and accelerate the resolution of global problems.
Cisco and Global Citizen are united in the belief that young people around the world are leading the way to create and implement solutions to achieve the Global Goals and to accelerate the resolution of global problems. That's why they created the Cisco Youth Leadership Award.
Publicity
- The award includes a prize of US$ 250,000 paid to the organisation to which the individual contributes.
Eligibility
- Open to people aged 18 to 30;
- Candidates must operate or work for an existing organisation;
- Candidates can come from anywhere in the world.
Criteria
Participants will be selected on the basis of individual merit and organisational strength in advancing one or more of the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development, based on the following five (5) criteria:
- Impact: Proven track record of measurable impact at scale over the last 3-5 years, advancing one or more of the Global Goals.
- Vision: Vision convincing and concrete plans on how to extend this work over the next 3-5 years, including how the prize will promote the efforts.
- Catalyst: Inspire other young people to have an impact on achieving one or more of the Global Goals.
- Global Citizenship: Demonstrates the values and embodies the spirit of a Global Citizen and a Global Problem Solver.
- Technological innovation: Innovates with technology or Internet-based communications to improve efficiency, reach and broaden impact.
Application
Applications will close on 15 December 2023 at 5pm Pacific Time. Late registrations will not be considered.
