The Bayer Foundation Women Empowerment Award (WEA), organised by the Impact Hub Network, is a vibrant celebration of women entrepreneurs leading innovative change. - The candidate must be a woman in a leadership position ((co)founder or C-level) in the company. Other leadership positions in the organisation can (also) be filled by men.
- Organisations of any kind can apply, as long as there is a strong entrepreneurial mindset and the business does not rely on grants/donations/subsidies/etc as its sole income stream.
- It offers an impactful solution in health, nutrition and/or climate-smart solutions in both fields.
- Solutions should (aim to) be accessible to Low and Middle Income Communities. Higher prices for products/services before economies of scale are accepted.
- The business must boost its impact in low- and middle-income countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific (excluding Australia and New Zealand), Latin America or the Middle East. Registration of companies in the Global South is preferred.
- The business must have annual revenues of between 0 USD and (a) 1 million USD.
- The candidate must have a strong personal drive and a commitment to social impact. They favour candidates who have had to overcome obstacles in life.
Application
The deadline for applications is 27 March 2024 at 23:59 (CET). 30 selected finalists will be trained to present their ideas to a jury. The 15 winners will attend the Awards Ceremony in Berlin in June and participate in the Bayer Foundation's Social Innovation Days.
