Applications are now open for the Allianz Climate Risk Award 2024 . Launched in 2017, the Allianz Climate Risk Prize celebrates early career scientists whose work sheds light on the link between climate change and extreme weather events.
The Allianz Climate Risk Award is a global prize open to doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers whose research focuses on:
- Understand and mitigate the risk of extreme weather events that are intensified by climate change;
- Promoting resilience through the application of technological solutions.
10 candidates are selected by a jury made up of experts from industry and academia and their work is published in a compendium on the Allianz Re website. Of the 10 shortlisted candidates, the 3 finalists are invited to Munich, Germany, to present their research project at the Allianz Climate Risk Award event.
Prize
- The winner of the Allianz Climate Risk Award 2024 will receive a cash prize of 7,000 euros. The other finalists will each receive a cash prize of 3,000 euros.
Eligibility
- Open to university students studying for a doctorate or post-doctorate, as well as recent doctorates or post-doctorates (the graduation/defence of the final research for the title must not be more than two years before the date of the title). application).

- Academic excellence: sound research approach and methodology
