Applications are now open for the Because Accelerator 2024 . Because Accelerator is a business accelerator programme designed to help entrepreneurs take their innovative products to the next level.
The programme has four main components:
- Training: A 16-week online curriculum covers topics common to startups and illustrated by Because International's experience with its own social enterprise startup, The Shoe That Grows.
- Coaching: After the first four weeks, the selected entrepreneurs will be accompanied by an experienced coach who will guide them during and after the programme.
- Networking: The entrepreneurs network with members of their group, Because Accelerator alumni and the Because Advisor Network - a group of experts in the field with connections all over the world.
- Financing: At the end of the group, selected entrepreneurs will compete in a pitch event for a cash prize. As a result of this competition, they have linked entrepreneurs to more than US$ 100,000 in funding.
Cohort details
Based on what it learnt from bringing its own manufactured product - The Growing Shoe - to market, Because Accelerator is a business accelerator designed for entrepreneurs in the early and middle stages of product development. The start-up accelerator programme focuses exclusively on increasing your revenue growth trajectory during the group and creating a plan for sustained growth beyond. The trainings cover the following concepts:
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Developing a marketing and sales plan
- Revenue operations and pricing strategy
- E-commerce
- Customer service and retention
Upon completion, entrepreneurs will have a written business plan, a polished pitch ready to share with potential investors, progress or completion of a next-level goal and an opportunity to take part in an annual pitch competition.
Eligibility
- Anyone with a socially innovative product is encouraged to apply to the business accelerator.
- They don't work with entrepreneurs from the restaurant, entertainment, education, software, food or service sectors.
