The Pan-African University is an initiative of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union. It is a leading continental university network whose mission is to provide quality postgraduate education aimed at achieving a prosperous, integrated and peaceful Africa.
Young, qualified, talented, and entrepreneurial candidates from African countries and the African diaspora are invited to apply to participate in master's or doctoral programs at any of the four PAU institutes listed below. Candidates with potential, motivation, and a desire to play transformative leadership roles as academics, professionals, industrialists, innovators, and entrepreneurs are particularly encouraged to apply.
Admission Requirements for Master's Programs
Candidates must meet the following conditions.
- Maximum age of 30 years for male candidates and 35 years for female candidates.
- A bachelor's degree from a recognized university, with at least a second-class upper division or equivalent, in a relevant field;
- Certified copies of relevant certificates and academic transcripts (from university and high school)
- Passport or National Identity Card (personal data page)
- Clear color passport-size photograph (2cm x 2cm)
- CV Details
- Letter of recommendation from ONE of your former university professors
- Names of 3 professors from the Reference University (with email address and WhatsApp number) (*Required)
Admission Requirements for Doctoral Programs
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Maximum age of 35 years for male candidates and 40 years for female candidates;
- Master's degree in a relevant field from PAU or any internationally recognized university;
- Certified copies of the relevant certificates and transcripts.
- Passport or National Identity Card (personal data page);
- Color passport-size photograph (2cm x 2cm);
- Detailed resume description;
- Letters of recommendation from 2 professors;
- A 3-4 page Research Concept Note (provisional title, research questions, objectives, research significance, etc.);
- Names of 3 Reputable University Professors (with email address and WhatsApp number); (Required);
The African Union Commission will offer full scholarships to approved African candidates.
Scholarship recipients must commit to working in Africa after graduation.
