Deadline: 22 January 2024

Are you an experienced technologist interested in working more deeply on the intersection between technology and social justice issues that interest you? Apply now for the Mozilla Tech + Society Fellowship 2024 .

This fellowship focuses on the intersection between technology and civil society and exists partly because of the imbalance of power - and resources - that public interest technologists and civil society organisations in the global majority are facing.

Critical civil society organisations fight inequality, protect the public and partner with the public sector to serve citizens. In the age of ubiquitous technology, it is crucial that civil society also works to address social issues as they converge with the digital world. Increasing collective impact at the intersection of technology and society will help strengthen the relevance and sustainability of public interest movements and technologists - and help promote a more human-centred Internet.

Benefits

Taking into account the whole person and recognising that technology has a global terrain and is a global industry, they adopt the following approach to supporting scholars:

  • Each scholar will receive a grant of US$ 60,000/year
  • In addition to the scholarship, each scholar will also have access to personal supplements, which are designed to support the individual's well-being.
  • Fellows will also have access to supplementary funding to help advance their independent and aligned work.

In addition to funding, they also offer the following support and resources to scholarship holders:
