The Climate Justice Advocacy Mentorship aims to strengthen the capacities of young African feminist climate activists to advocate for the accelerated implementation of gender-just climate action and sustainable development (Agenda 2030) and to address structural barriers to gender inequality.

About Mentoring
  • The mentoring programme will last 18 months.
  • Successful candidates will undergo virtual and physical training in climate defence.
  • Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in national, regional and global meetings on climate change to acquire practical skills and experience in climate change advocacy and leadership.
  • Candidates are expected to implement some climate defence initiatives in their home country after completing the programme.
Election criteria
  • You must be an African
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • It must be a woman
  • You work with a women's or gender organisation or network with a focus on climate and gender justice.
  • Is your organisation affiliated with the Global Constituency on Women and Gender of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), or the African Constituency on Women and Gender, or any other feminist or gender network?
