Applications are now open for the MCW Global Young Leaders Fellowship 2024. The Young Leaders Fellowship Programme is a unique leadership opportunity open to all young people between the ages of 18 and 26 from all over the world who wish to tackle community projects in the areas of education, health and education. economic security . The one-year programme prepares young people to become leaders of change in their communities through the development of leadership, global citizenship, self-awareness and vision planning .
The programme team, mentors and mentees work together to impact communities through innovative ideas and concrete projects, truly fulfilling the purpose of Local Change through Global Exchange®.
About the Fellowship
- The MCW Global Young Leaders Fellowship begins with the Community Needs Assessment - a month-long community needs mapping programme that prepares young people aged between 18 and 26 from all over the world to better understand their local communities.
- After assessing the community's needs, the Young Leaders take part in an intensive one-month Virtual Programme that helps them become leaders of positive change in their communities.
- After Virtual Learning, participants spend 10 months developing their action plans with the support of alumni mentors.
The 2024 Young Leaders Fellowship will take place in New York, New York, and Burlington, Vermont, from 9 to 18 July 2024. The offers will be distributed by New York University in New York and Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont.

Eligibility
Young leaders must:
- Demonstrate commitment to your community;
- Identifying a problem in your community in the areas of education , health or economic security ;
- Have between 18 and 26 years old at the start of the programme (1st June 2024);
- Be fluent in written and spoken English;
- Commit making the Community Needs Assessment in June , take part in the 10-day face-to-face programme in July and pass the following year in order to implement their community project;
- Have access to email and the Internet to enable consistent communication with the MCW global team and the former Young Leaders Fellowship mentor during the one-year programme;
- Follow the Young Leaders Fellowship graduation guidelines (to be provided after acceptance onto the programme);
- Be eligible for a legal visa and travel documentation;
- Send a completed application by Sunday 12 November 2023, 11:59 (New York time).
Application
- The application must be completed in English.
- Letters of recommendation and CVs must also be written in English. Any part of the application that is not written in English will not be read and will be considered incomplete.

- Describe a time when you challenged yourself and used a leadership skill to reach a solution.

- Your CV should be no longer than 1 page. We suggest you prepare it in Times New Roman, 12 point font, with 1 inch margins.
- Two letters of recommendation
- Your letters should be addressed to people who know your work ethic and commitment to your community. Friends and family are discouraged from writing letters of recommendation.
- Recommenders should indicate their name, charge, contact details and relationship with the candidate at the top of the letter.
