The African Union will organise a

Career Fair  on 8 June 2024, which will focus on "Strategies for professionals to accelerate their career growth and institutions to attract and retain talent".

The highly interactive event will present and highlight a long list of strategic decision-makers from the African Union who will provide first-hand information and delve into the history, mandate, structures and opportunities available within the institution.

To take part in the Masterclass ,  SIGN UP HERE.  8 June 2024 | 8am GMT | 10am COMER.

The Careers Fair will explore innovative ways to attract and nurture a highly diverse, passionate and competent talent pipeline to the AU. The event will focus on ways and means to:

  • Attracting and retaining qualified talent : Young African professionals yearn for more. The relentless brain drain that Africa is facing is proof of this. The AU, through its various career paths, can help African talents work for and with Africa to realise the continent's aspirations.
  • Showcase the AU and African institutions : Awareness of the AU, its mandate, structure and opportunities is low compared to agencies like the UN. By highlighting the AU and its activities, the masterclass can stimulate discourse and increase the momentum the AU needs to attract top talent.
  • Diaspora Talent Channel (A way back to the roots for Africans in the diaspora) The spiritual and cultural connection that Africans in the diaspora have with the continent is deep and lasting. This is evident in the amount of money that returns to the continent through remittances. The AU is strategically positioned and equipped to leverage this emotional connection by providing opportunities for talents from the diaspora to get involved in the realisation of Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want.

The Careers Fair is open to the public and is especially aimed at:

  • African students
  • Graduates
  • Early-stage African professionals
  • African entrepreneurs and freelancers
  • Africans in research and academia
  • Africans in the diaspora
