Science Without Borders® Challenge is an international competition that involves students and teachers in ocean conservation through art. This annual competition encourages students to be creative while raising public awareness of the need to preserve, protect and restore the world's oceans and aquatic resources, contributing to the main objectives of the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation. O Challenge is open to primary and secondary school students aged 11 to 19, with scholarships of up to US$ 500 awarded to the winning candidates.
The Science Without Borders® Challenge 2021

Science Without Borders Challenge this year® é"The Magic of the Mangroves". Mangroves are extremely important ecosystems with many benefits. For this year's theme, create a work of art that illustrates the importance of mangroves.

Winners of the Science Without Borders® Challenge will receive the following grants:

  • 1st place: $500
  • 2nd place: $350
  • 3rd place: $200

Eligibility

This international art competition is open to all students between the ages of 11 and 19. Students must be enrolled in primary or secondary school, or the equivalent home school. University and college students are not eligible for this competition.

The works will be judged in two categories according to age, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes awarded for each:

  • Students aged 11 to 14
  • Students aged 15 to 19
