The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is looking for two full-time Tyranny Tracker Fellows for a six-month fellowship, with the possibility of extension. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital human rights research anywhere in the world.

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is a non-partisan, non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights worldwide, with a focus on closed societies. HRF is one of the few international organisations that exclusively targets human rights issues in authoritarian regimes, focusing on more than 90 countries where citizens are denied meaningful electoral competition, basic political freedoms and judicial independence.
About the position:
How Tyranny Tracker Fellow In addition, you will support HRF's Tyranny Tracker Research project, which monitors and analyses political repression around the world. This project is closely aligned with HRF's mission to promote human rights in closed societies. You will be involved in managing the research project, drafting internal research memos, conducting research and managing project management tasks such as setting targets and managing deadlines.
Skills and requirements:
- Strong research, writing and analysis skills (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of political science, international relations, international or comparative law (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with qualitative research methods in the social sciences and literature on authoritarianism and democratisation (strongly preferred)
- Passionate about research
- Detail-orientated and self-motivated
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Creative mindset
- Strong affinity with HRF's mission
- Based in the United States (preferred), but highly qualified candidates from other regions will be considered
- Time commitment: 40 hours/week
- Stipend: $ 2,500/month for full time
