Focus areas
- To ensure that their efforts have a measurable effect, they have chosen to focus on three areas:
- Preserving endangered wildlife
- Combating plastic waste and marine litter
- Support local communities in the areas where they operate
Information on financing
- All grants are awarded in euros (EUR). Grants tend to be in the range of 5,000 - 10,000 EUR

- Grassroots projects
- Environmental projects
- Community projects
- Scientific research projects
- Educational projects
Who can apply?
- Any organisation that intends to carry out projects or activities related to its objectives and in the areas of the world in which it operates.
- The Hurtigruten Group currently operates in Alaska, Antarctica, Arctic Canada and the Northwest Passage, Argentina, the British Isles, the Caribbean, Chile, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, the Falkland Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Svalbard, Cape Verde, Senegal, Gambia and Guinea-Bissau in West Africa.
- They are unlikely to consider grant applications from private companies, commercial organisations, individuals, hospitals, places of worship, private clubs or other exclusive or closed organisations.
What won't they finance?
- Projects not associated with the areas in which they navigate and operate
- Exclusive activities for private members
