Registration is now open for the Yenching Global Symposium 2024 . The Yenching Global Symposium (YGS) is the main annual event organised by Yenching Academy that brings together people from different disciplines with a common interest: China. This year's event will take place from 11 to 14 April 2024 and will feature engaging speakers and interactive events on the theme of China. "Equilibrium: Our World in the Balance" .
This conference will be attended by prominent international academics and leading young professionals from a wide range of fields and will provide a forum for constructive dialogue on relevant issues concerning China and the world. Most of the programme will be in English. Some speakers may give their speeches in Chinese, but simultaneous or consecutive translation will be provided.

They are accepting applications for 100 delegates to come to Peking University's historic campus and take part in the conference. Their trip is fully funded, including board and lodging.
Benefits
They cover flights, public transport, accommodation and meals, but the costs of the visa are borne by the delegates themselves. They recommend bringing a small amount of cash for your convenience.

- Born after 11 April 1993;
- Are in their final year of bachelor's studies in any field at the time of enrolment or already hold a bachelor's degree;
- They will commit to the entire symposium, 11-14 April 2024;
- He is proficient in English;
- He has never attended any of the previous Yenching Global Symposiums or Yenching Social Innovation Forums;
- It has a strong interest in China.
Tips for your application
- Save your answers in a Microsoft Word document for your reference. Drafts will not be saved. Please send the complete application when all the answers have been filled in.
- Your answers should be no longer than 300 words (for each essay).
- Incomplete and late registrations will not be accepted.
- If English is not your first language or if you have not graduated from a programme taught in English, please describe your English proficiency. Ideally, applicants will have a minimum of IELTS 7/TOEFL 100/Cambridge 180/CEFR C1 (screenshots are accepted). If you have never taken a standardised English test, the quality of your answers may serve as testimony to your English ability and the Executive Committee may request further proof of your English proficiency. This requirement will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
- The YGS is fully funded for all accepted delegates (the Symposium organisers cover your airfare, accommodation and meals). It is a scam if you receive emails or communications requesting payment after your registration.
