The World Trade Organisation (WTO) is pleased to announce the launch of its Young Trade Leaders Programme. This initiative aims to promote a deeper understanding of the work of the WTO and international trade among young people, while creating a global network of Young Trade Leaders. If you are aged between 18 and 30 and have a keen interest in international trade, we recommend that you apply.

About the Young Business Leaders Programme

The Young Trade Leaders Programme is looking for exceptional young people who can clearly demonstrate how trade can benefit people and the planet. The selected leaders will bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to the role of trade and the WTO, while gaining insights into the organisation's operations and contributing to its mission.

How to apply

Young Business Leaders will be selected for a one-year term. For more details on the 2024 programme and information on how to apply, see the information note. The deadline for applications is 5 July 2024 (23:59 CET). Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview in July.

Benefits

The Young Commercial Leaders selected will:

  • Participate in training courses organised by the WTO.
  • Receive advice and guidance from the WTO Secretariat.
  • Get support to organise WTO-related activities in their home countries.

Although the programme offers no remuneration, the selected leaders will be invited to travel to Geneva to actively participate in the 2024 WTO Public Forum in September.
