Research Opportunities for Emerging Researchers at Afrobarometer

Afrobarometer, a pan-African research network that conducts public opinion surveys in 39 African countries, invites early career researchers to apply for its Emerging Scholars Workshop. This unique workshop offers a platform for promising researchers to hone their research skills and connect with renowned experts in the field.

The workshop, which will be held from 27 to 29 June 2023 in Accra, Ghana, will bring together researchers from across the African continent. Participants will have the opportunity to present their research work, receive feedback from experts and engage in in-depth discussions about the challenges and opportunities of research in Africa.

The workshop will cover a wide range of topics, including research methodologies, data analysis, academic writing and research dissemination. Participants will also have the chance to learn about the latest trends in public opinion research and connect with potential collaborators and mentors.

To qualify for the workshop, candidates must be early career researchers with a proven track record of academic excellence. Candidates should have completed a master's or doctorate in social sciences or a related field and should have experience in quantitative or qualitative research.

The deadline for applications is 31 March 2023. Selected candidates will be notified by 15 April 2023. The workshop is free for selected participants, and Afrobarometer will cover the costs of travel, accommodation and meals.
