What is the Western Union Foundation scholarship?
The Western Union Foundation Fellowship is a fully-funded initiative designed to empower social entrepreneurs with the skills and experience needed to improve access to economic opportunities and accelerate their impact. Over the course of 16 weeks, participants will take part in a dynamic programme that aims to promote community integration, navigate the evolving work landscape and create lasting change in their communities.
What does the scholarship offer?
Participants in the Western Union Foundation scholarship will have the opportunity to:
- Obtain essential skills: through selected workshops, mentoring and resources, the fellows will develop crucial skills to boost their ventures.
- Access to start-up funding: US$ 36,000 in initial funding will be distributed among selected scholars based on their progress and impact throughout the programme.
- Promote community integration: Connect with like-minded individuals and organisations, building networks that extend beyond borders.
- Navigate the changes in work dynamics: learn to adapt and thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy.
- Create a lasting impact: Developing strategies and initiatives to make a tangible difference in marginalised communities around the world.
Programme details:
- Duration: The scholarship is part-time and runs from 8 August 2024 to 19 November 2024.
- Format: Hosted virtually, allowing participants to interact from anywhere in the world.
