Applications are now open for the IACC Young Journalists Initiative 2024 . Transparency International is looking for young journalists from around the world who are passionate about fighting corruption and investigating social issues related to transparency, integrity and exposing corruption.
Young journalists who have taken part in the programme become part of the YJ Alumni programme and have the opportunity to join Journalists for Transparency, a collective of more than 100 journalists and storytellers who report on transparency and corruption issues around the world. J4T can provide small to medium-scale grants for YJ alumni to work together and investigate specific cases of corruption. The aim of the initiative is to inspire, enable and empower young journalists to hone their investigative craft in order to better expose corruption and its devastating impact on people's lives.

Responsibilities
- Familiarise yourself with the IACC 2024 programme and how Transparency International works globally and at national level, as well as the priorities outlined in Holding Power to Account, its global anti-corruption strategy for 2021-2030.
- (optional) Provide suggestions and promote IACC's various channels, including Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo and more.
- (optional) Write posts on the IACC blog.
- (optional) Get involved with IACC initiatives, including FairPlay, Films for Transparency and the IACC Social Entrepreneurs Initiative.
- Attend a virtual preparation and introduction meeting the day before the conference (18 June) to meet the relevant Transparency International coordination team and fellow YJs and discuss roles and responsibilities.
- Arrange related coverage with the YJ editorial team.

- They are offering scholarships to young/beginning professional digital, print, social, photographic or video journalists to cover IACC 2024. An economy flight to Vilnius (Lithuania), 5 nights' accommodation at the IACC Hotel, IACC headquarters, as well as related visa processing costs will be covered by IACC.
Eligibility
- You work as a journalist, have solid experience in reporting on social issues and have skills in one of the following areas:
- Digital/print journalism
- News broadcast
- Video creation
- Photojournalism
- Social media (specifically TikTok and Reels)
- You are passionate about fighting corruption and want to learn more about Transparency International, the IACC and the issues they work on.
- You will be under 35 on 21 June 2024 and fluent in English.
- All J4T/IACC YJ alumni (regardless of age or location) are welcome to join the reporting team.
