Deadline: 24 August
Applications are now open for the JWH (Joke Waller-Hunter) Initiative to stimulate youth leadership in environmental organisations in order to secure dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled leaders for the environmental movement in the developing world.
In order to promote lasting change towards a more sustainable world, the environmental movement constantly needs inspiring and skilful leadership. Young people working for environmental CSOs, especially in developing countries, often have few opportunities to develop leadership skills due to a lack of resources for schooling, training or hands-on learning.
The JWH Initiative creates opportunities for young people in the environmental sector in developing countries to develop their full potential. By awarding small grants to individuals to expand their knowledge, experience and training, the Initiative aims to strengthen the capacity and efficiency of environmental civil society organisations.
The mission of the JWH Initiative is thus to provide a small, affordable and tailored grant for the education and training of individuals who are nominated by their organisation as potential future leaders.
