Just IMAGINE if... was created by former UK Entrepreneur of the Year, founder of Ella's Kitchen and rector of Reading University, Paul Lindley. The programme awarded two prizes to scale, innovate and execute world-changing ideas in 2019 and 2022. It's now time for the University of Reading and Henley Business School to find a third winner and create even more opportunities to tackle global challenges.
Grant
- The research grant is worth up to £100,000. There is no cash alternative to the grant, which is non-negotiable and non-transferable.
Eligibility
- Open to budding entrepreneurs aged 18 and over;
- They can be from anywhere in the world.

Your application should include:
- A written outline of the idea, in no more than 1,000 words, which demonstrates that the idea has a sustainable, scalable and self-sustaining business model.
- A written outline of the type of research offer you need from the University to bring your idea to life and make it viable.
- A short video (no longer than 60 seconds) explaining how your idea will make a difference to society and what impact the research prize will have.
Applications for the research grant will undergo initial checks of the selection criteria to ensure that all the necessary information has been received and that the candidate is eligible. A committee will evaluate the applications that pass the initial checks, with the finalists selected to proceed to the next phase.
