Applications are now open for the Global Network Initiative (GNI) Emerging Voices Fellowship Programme 2021. The fellowship programme seeks to promote freedom of expression and online privacy around the world by facilitating collaboration and conversation between diverse stakeholders.

The grants include funding to attend four GNI Council meetings and networking events and participate in GNI activities including, but not limited to: policy and learning calls on digital rights issues, development of policy analysis papers and attendance at multi-party regional meetings.
Fellows will gain insight into company decision-making, build relationships with company representatives and other GNI members, gain knowledge through members-only meetings and discussions, and have the opportunity to contribute their knowledge to GNI's exclusive multi-stakeholder forum.
Benefits
- Three one-year scholarships of US$ 10,000 will be awarded to organisations based in Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and sub-Saharan Africa.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be based in Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, or sub-Saharan Africa.
- Demonstrated experience or interest in and aptitude for working on freedom of expression and privacy issues in the ICT sector.
- Ability to attend three face-to-face meetings (health and travel restrictions permitting) and one remote event (call-in), as well as preparation calls.
- The willingness to designate a member of the application organisation to be the main point of contact for this grant.
