O Fund UN trustee seeks proposals for UN-led initiatives civil society to end violence against women women and girls who suffer forms of cross-discrimination in all contexts, including and not limited to those working in protracted crises.

The aim of the UN Trust Fund is to "ensure that more women and girls, especially the most marginalised and those who experience intersecting forms of discrimination, can exercise their human right to live a life free from all forms of violence" through initiatives that..:

  • Improving women's and girls' access to essential, specialised, safe and appropriate multisectoral services
  • Improving VAW/G prevention through changes in behaviour, practices and attitudes
  • Increase the effectiveness of national legislation, policies, action plans and accountability systems to prevent and end VAW/G.

Priorities

  • For this call, they will give priority to applications from the following types of organisations:
    • Women's rights organisations (WROs), in full recognition of being the driving force behind the agenda to end violence against women and feminist movements, as well as being at the forefront of EVAW/G's work, directly reaching women and girls who are survivors and those most at risk of exclusion and marginalisation.
    • CSOs/ROs led by and for marginalised women and girls (e.g. constituent-led), that have specialised knowledge, expertise and a proven track record of working with women and girls facing or at risk of violence, especially survivor-led organisations. Girl-led and girl-centred organisations are also particularly encouraged to apply.
    • CSOs with local or community outreach that are best placed to meet the needs of women and girls in their contexts, including through collaboration and equitable partnerships. Applications from organisations that are not local (but meet other criteria) are still welcome if the proposal includes an equitable partnership with local women's rights organisations or constituent-led groups for greater community impact or reach. The proposal must demonstrate how the partnership will ensure an equitable balance of power that empowers community/local-based groups and CSOs/WHOs.
