The fourth IRENA Youth Forum of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA): the new generation of decision-makers will meet on 13 January 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the thirteenth session of the IRENA Assembly. The Assembly is the Agency's final decision-making authority, where Heads of State/Government, Ministers and global stakeholders meet to discuss and advance the energy transition.

The IRENA Youth Forum 2023 will strengthen youth networks and connect them with global leaders, government representatives and IRENA experts. The Forum will create a space for young people to contribute to the Agency's mission of accelerating the deployment of renewable energy to meet climate goals and advance the sustainable development agenda.

Through a series of interactive sessions, including open dialogues and thematic workshops, participants will be able to add a youth perspective to the global energy discourse.

Global Participation

The event seeks a global and balanced geographical representation of youth and encourages applications from young people in LDCs, SIDS and developing countries.

After selection, full sponsorship, including travel and accommodation, will be provided for up to 35 participants.

Application process

Interested young peopleat least 16 years old can apply by filling in an application form and providing the following documents:
*Curriculum vitae
*Short essay on a topic of particular interest to young people related to renewable energies and sustainable development; this can also include a project that the candidates have worked on or are currently working on (1000/1200 words).

O deadline for individual registrations is 29 October 2022 (midnight, Abu Dhabi local time). Participants will be selected on the basis of their commitment to accelerating progress in the deployment of renewable energy.
