The aim of this call for strengthening grants is to finance organisations of small and medium-sized civil society, to support their work in defence of rights and strengthen them so that they can bring about positive change in one of AmplifyChange's priority themes or in an intersection or combination of themes: Abortion, Violence , Youth Stigma and Access.

- Challenging stigma and discrimination
- Better sexual health for young people
- Access to SRHR services for vulnerable and marginalised groups

- They are happy to receive applications from organisations that want to integrate these issues into their proposals:

Information on financing
- Grant amount up to: £200,000
- The duration of a Strengthening Grant is between 24 and 36 months.
- Up to 40% from an Empowerment Grant can be used to support organisational development costs and increase organisational effectiveness.
Eligible project funding
- They are particularly interested in financing projects that:
- are presented by small and medium-sized organisations seeking to grow and develop their organisational capacity
- aim to address the root causes and drivers of discriminatory social norms and unequal power relations
- expand on a successful idea or innovative approach
- implement a promising practice that has shown initial success
- empower marginalised groups to defend their rights and access to services
- work for the development, improvement and effective implementation of laws and policies, including statutes
Election criteria
- All applicants must meet the general eligibility criteria, as well as the criteria detailed below:
- Your organisation must be registered and implementing a project in one of the countries eligible for AmplifyChange.
- Your organisation must have a bank account.
- You must be a small to medium-sized organisation with average annual expenditure over the last two years of between GBP 250,000 and GBP 500,000 per year. For example, if your expenditure in 2021 was 450,000 GBP and in 2022 it was 600,000 GBP, the average would be 525,000 GBP - this would mean that you would not be eligible to apply.
- You will be asked to send evidence of the amounts of your expenses. This could be an audited report or a profit and loss statement.
