Educational systems may not have equipped them with the necessary skills to meet the demands of the corporate world and access to information about job opportunities is not always easy to find.
But all that is about to change with the Young Enterprise Internship Programme (YOE). We're on a mission to equip Nigerian graduates with the skills and experience they need to excel in the workplace and stand shoulder to shoulder with their global peers.
Taming unemployment
EnterpriseNGR has decided not just to point out the problem of unemployment, but to provide a solution to it. That's why the organisation has created the Youth of Enterprise (YOE) Internship Programme.
The Youth of Enterprise (YOE) Internship Programme is one of EnterpriseNGR's immediate development initiatives aimed at addressing national trends in youth unemployment and underemployment, as well as developing skills in the private sector.
The National Population Commission puts Nigeria's population at around 220 million, with 50% of the population made up of young people. Unfortunately, more than 42% of young Nigerians remain unemployed and a larger percentage are underemployed (Source: Nigerian Bureau of Statistics).
With the YOE Internship Programme, the organisation aims to improve the employability of young Nigerians and position them for success in the workplace.
Through the Youth of Enterprise (YOE) Internship Programme, EnterpriseNGR is playing a vital role in facilitating capacity building in the private sector and contributing to solving the problem of unemployment in Nigeria
