As a long-standing partner of One Young World, Deloitte proudly supports the Deloitte One Young World Scholarship 2023. This scholarship aims to empower five exceptional young leaders to participate in the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada, from September 18-21, 2024. The scholarship is tailored for individuals dedicated to combating climate change or improving education, skills, and access to opportunities in their communities, countries, or on a global scale.
Scholarship Criteria
Deloitte is looking for candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to:
For Climate Action:
- To create, scale, or support efforts that reduce carbon emissions.
- To mitigate the negative impacts of climate change through various means.
- Empowering individuals to take climate action.
- Planning and strategies to reduce the impacts of natural disasters related to climate change.
Or:
For Education and Skills:
- To improve access to education, skills, or employment opportunities, especially for marginalized groups.
- To create opportunities for skills development or lifelong learning for the future preparation of the workforce.
- Accelerating entrepreneurship, creating new types of jobs, or breaking down traditional employment barriers.
What will academics receive?
Selected scholarship recipients will be entitled to:
- Access to the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal.
- Hotel accommodation between September 18 and 21, 2024.
- Economy class travel to and from Montreal.
- Catering, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the summit.
- Ground transportation between the summit locations.
- Participation in sessions organized by Deloitte with a "friend" designated by Deloitte.
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for this life-changing opportunity, applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 30 years old (those over 30 with a strong history of impact may also be considered).
- To be a national of any country (projects must be based where Deloitte has a presence).
- Demonstrate a commitment to positive change.
- Demonstrate leadership ability.
- Demonstrate an understanding of key local and/or global issues.
- Having a track record of generating impactful and innovative solutions.
