Applications are now open for the EJC Solutions Journalism Accelerator Freelancers Call 2024 . The Solutions Journalism Accelerator Call 2024 offers funding for freelancers and facilitates research opportunities to support solutions-focused development journalism.
The aim of the European Journalism Centre is to support and empower 12 journalists or small teams of journalists to create and disseminate impactful stories through a Solutions Journalism approach. They will provide new insights, shed light on under-reported topics, focus on the Global South and explore global development issues.

The EJC understands the significant role that journalism plays in informing people about major social issues and challenges and has recognised that solution-focused and community-centred approaches to this type of journalism are not only beneficial for journalists and media organisations, but also for more impactful reporting outcomes.
Grant
- The selected projects, a maximum of 12, can receive a grant of up to €8,500.

- Applicants must be freelance journalists or employees or small teams of journalists with experience in reporting on development issues.
- There is no citizenship or residency restriction, but applicants must have a track record of publication in respected media in France, Germany or the UK.
- Projects must be solution-centred and address one or more of the first six Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), respectively: Eradication of poverty, Zero hunger, Good health and well-being, Quality education, Gender equality and Clean water and sanitation.
- The projects/stories must be published in opinion-forming media organisations in France, Germany or the UK.
