Deadline: 15 November 22
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is offering grants through this Call for Public Engagement 2023 - Proof of Concepts.
Through this Open Call, the EIT is looking for innovative ideas for public engagement projects with social impact potential, to be tested in a Proof of Concept (PoC) phase.
A Proof of Concept is a scoping exercise to test whether an idea, a particular concept or approach, when turned into reality, would bring social impact as anticipated. Through this call, the EIT offers an opportunity for individual organisations or small consortia to devote sufficient time to testing and demonstrating the relevance of the proposed approach to establishing the feasibility of the idea's social impact. The Proof of Concept phase can also be used to build a scale-up model for a multi-year project.
The topics selected for the Proofs of Concept must support the vision of EIT Food: a world where everyone can access and enjoy sustainable, safe and healthy food - with confidence and fairness from farm to fork.
Targets
EIT Food is working towards these four Impact Goals:
*Improving conditions to increase public confidence in the food system
*Best diet health results
*Better environmental impact of agri-food systems
*Enabling transitions to a circular and sustainable economy
Mira
The ideas in the Proof of Concept project should be aimed at:
*Equipping individuals to make more informed (healthier/more sustainable) choices
*Increase transparency and engagement in the food system
*Include consumer involvement in shaping the future food system
Financing information
*The maximum total EIT funding allocated to this call is EUR 360,000 per submission window, excluding 10% co-financing.
*EIT Food funding per project 50,000 EUR per PoC.
Eligibility criteria
*The call for Proof of Concepts is open to individuals and consortia from European Union (EU) Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries. In exceptional cases, an entity not from the EU or third countries (not associated with Horizon Europe) may receive financial support, provided it is approved directly by the EIT.
*PoC's can be applied for by just one member and the PoC period can be used to build the consortium for the following years that would implement the full proposal. However, the PoC submission already needs to outline the key skills required for the full activity to be successful.
