Applications are now open for the Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3 . Through the Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3, 50,000 dollars will be awarded to a small, innovative, youth-led non-profit organisation that aims to solve the climate and health challenges facing young people today.
In addition to the scholarship, the winner will also receive a fully-funded scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal, Canada, as well as mentoring from AstraZeneca and inclusion in a development programme through the YHP Impact Fellowship.

The winning solution will receive:
- Scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit 2024
- A donation of US$ 50,000 from AstraZenea.
- 12 months of mentoring from a team of AstraZeneca professionals and partners. The mentoring team will work to accelerate your solution based on the needs of your initiative or organisation, such as:
- Business strategy
- Best practices for data collection
- Monitoring and evaluation
- Product design
Eligibility
- Citizens of all eligible countries can apply for this scholarship.
- Applicants must demonstrate a positive impact related to leading climate/health equity projects that benefit young people (aged between 10 and 24).
- Access to the internet and a device (computer, telephone) that will allow them to participate in live online Fellowship sessions - this will not be provided to Fellows.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
- Ability to participate fully in person at the One Young World Summit (18-21 September 2024) in Montreal, Canada.
- Ability to commit to a one-year scholarship programme and attend at least 75% of modules/activities.
- Ability to lead and manage the implementation and reporting of the non-profit project funded by the Fellowship.
- Applicants must be founders or leaders of registered non-profit organisations that meet the following criteria:
- Have been registered and operational for at least three full years.
- Had a total declared income in the last financial year of more than US$ 100,000 and less than US$ 2,000,000.
- They are "ready for funding" and are able to provide the appropriate documentation (in English) to AstraZeneca's funding partner at the Charities AId Foundation to verify their organisation's charitable status, governance and financial situation. This process usually takes 3 to 6 months to complete and will begin as soon as the scholars have been selected. If the required documentation is not available, this could affect the organisation's ability to receive the grant and the grant could be withdrawn. We aim for all grants to be distributed by September 2025 and for the project to start between September 2024 and March 2025. All projects must finish by November 2025, with the final impact report delivered to AstraZeneca by 31 December 2025.

- Identifies and explains the barriers that young people (10-24 years old) face when it comes to accessing healthcare in their community. This can include, but is not limited to, health literacy and awareness, access, experience or outcomes of healthcare.
- It proposes an innovative solution to this problem and clearly demonstrates how it will have a positive impact on equitable access to healthcare for young people (aged between 10 and 24).
- It is designed and implemented in an inclusive and non-discriminatory way, working with marginalised, under-served or vulnerable young people.
- It considers and prevents any harmful environmental impact that may arise. Projects that have a positive impact on the environment will be prioritised.
- Explain how it will be delivered in a way that produces a benefit for the target beneficiary group.
- It is measured and can demonstrate impact. Organisations must provide an end-of-year and end-of-grant report including, but not limited to, the total number of young people reached directly, changes/improvements over time, lessons learned and impact.
- It starts after September 2024 and will be completed in November 2025.
