Applications for the African Union Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC) 2020 are now open. The African Union Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC) was created in 2010 and is a continental development programme that promotes youth volunteering in Africa.

The programme aims to deepen the status of young people as key players in Africa's development goals and targets by increasing their participation in policy development, as well as the design and implementation of interventions relevant to the African Union's Agenda 2063, "The Africa we want".

It brings people together to share skills, knowledge, creativity and learning in order to build a more integrated, prosperous and peaceful continent, driven by its citizens. Volunteering opportunities aim to build professionalism and a sense of responsibility among participants, thereby increasing their employability. Young African professionals are recruited to serve for a period of 12 months as AU Volunteers in an AU Member State other than their own.
