Since 2019, the EWC has awarded $4 million in cash prizes and $150 million in in-kind prizes, providing opportunities for entrepreneurs to reach the next stage in their company's journey. However, the CEE is more than just a competition. The global finals will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in November 2024.
All Global Finalists will be reviewed and evaluated based on due diligence. The top 100 startups from all stages will be announced as the EWC 100 and will participate in the EWC Global Finals. The EWC Global Finals in Riyadh are the culmination of a year-long search to find some of the most promising entrepreneurs from around the world. The Finals are a multi-day event featuring a series of presentations as well as opportunities to meet investors from around the globe.
Eligibility
All entrepreneurs are welcome. Wherever you are in the world, no matter your sector or the stage of your company, they welcome you to EWC 2024 and look forward to another great year of global competition and connectivity.
- There is no entrance fee.
- Any startup from around the world can apply and become a Candidate.
- Applicant startups must be legally registered or plan to register in their country of residence.
- The startup applicants must be ten years old or younger on the date of the Global Finals. The entity's age is defined by the company's registration date, not the date the idea was conceived.
- EWC Global Winners who won cash prizes during previous editions of the EWC Global Finals (2019-2023) are eligible to participate again in 2024, with certain eligibility considerations for future awards:
- Candidates for the CEE are only eligible for award categories different from the award they won during their previous participation in the competition.
- Only the winners of the EEC Grand Prix (first place overall) are not eligible to participate as candidate candidates for the EEC 2024.
- Any winner from second to fifth place and/or category winner is eligible and encouraged to register, but cannot compete for the same placement.
- To encourage impartiality in the competition, there is no expedited process for previous winners to compete in the Global Finals, and all candidates will go through the same evaluation process.
- For example: Participant A wins the Idea Stage award in 2021. If Candidate A applies again, they will only be considered for EWC category awards and/or "ranked awards" not belonging to the Idea Stage.
- For example: Participant B wins a category-specific award in 2023. If Candidate B applies again, they will only be considered for any category award except the award they previously won and/or all classified awards.
- For example: Participant C won second place in 2020. If Candidate B applies again, they will only be considered for CEE category awards and/or any ranking award, except for second place.

- Employees of the organizers, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, promotional agencies, suppliers, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the competition.

Application
All startups must register in the country where their headquarters are located. Even if your team is based in multiple countries, you must register in the country where the company's executive management and key management and support team are located.
If you are in the idea phase, you should register in the country where you plan to open your business.
