The World Food Forum (WFF) is pleased to invite the members of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the Forum's partners to nominate Youth representatives and observers for the WFF Youth Assembly consultation cycle 2024. The WFF Youth Assembly provides a dedicated, inclusive and self-organised space for young people to defend agri-food systems and engage in political debate.
The Youth Assembly will start its meetings in March 2024 with thematic and regional virtual sessions that will run throughout 2024, building up to the main hybrid session to be held at the WFF flagship event from 14 to 18 October 2024 in Rome, Italy. A detailed agenda will be made available to delegations on the Youth Assembly website shortly. The WFF 2024 cycle is organised under the general theme "Good food for everyone, today and tomorrow" .

The WFF, launched in 2021 as an independent network of partners organised by FAO, serves as the main global platform to actively shape agri-food systems for a better food future, accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through global youth action, science, innovation and investment, the WFF creates new avenues of action and multi-sector partnerships for agri-food impact at local, regional and global levels to achieve a more sustainable, resilient, inclusive and hunger-free food future for all.

Youth Representatives and Observers are asked to:
- Actively co-create the virtual sessions of the Youth Assembly throughout the year (starting in March) and participate in discussions ahead of the 2024 flagship event in October;
- Prepare a statement in relation to the WFF 2024 theme and the priorities of the country/organisation, to be presented at the flagship event in October. Statements can be presented orally or in writing, in one of the UN's official languages.

Nominations for Youth Representatives and Observers must be under the age of 36 and may include:
- members of a youth organisation and/or network related to food, agriculture, development, climate and any other relevant area;
- members of the stakeholder group (i.e. young farmers, fishermen, indigenous peoples, etc.);
- young members of a ministry, cabinet or any other national institution;
- students in the various areas of agri-food systems; and/or
- former and current youth delegates to the United Nations and/or international conferences.
Application
- FAO members and Forum partners are asked to send their nominations for Youth Representatives and Observers for the WFF 2024 Youth Assembly consultation cycle to Youth-Delegate@world-food-forum.org
- Applications must be accompanied by the following information:
- full name,
- professional and/or academic background and current institutional affiliation,
- email address.
- Indicate the main representative/observer who will act as the liaison responsible for receiving communication materials to relay to the rest of the group.
- Specify whether the nominees will attend the main 2024 event in person in October.
Please be advised that the WFF Secretariat cannot provide any financial support for travel and accommodation. Accreditation/invitation letters will be issued to facilitate visa applications and the Italian authorities will be informed accordingly.
