We are pleased to announce an open call for applications for new Regional Focal Points for the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY) Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group (DRR WG). This is a unique opportunity to take a leadership role, contribute to global disaster risk reduction efforts and amplify the voices of young people in your region.
About the role:
As a Regional Focal Point (RFP), you will play a crucial role in coordinating and mobilising youth-led DRR initiatives in your region and in the 2024 Regional Platforms for Disaster Risk Reduction. You will work closely with the Global Focal Points to promote youth involvement, facilitate communication between the regional and global levels and support the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
Criteria for choice:
- Aged between 18 and 30.
- Citizens of any country in AFRICA, PACIFIC ASIA and the CARIBBEAN.
- Proven experience and interest in disaster risk reduction and climate risk.
- Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in collaboration with different groups and stakeholders.
- Commitment to a one-year term with the possibility of renewal.
