Leadership and Conservation Management Opportunities for Young Africans
The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is pleased to announce the launch of the Charles R. Wall Conservation Leadership & Management Fellowship 2025, a unique programme designed to empower young Africans with the skills and knowledge needed to lead conservation efforts on the continent.
This two-year scholarship offers an unrivalled opportunity for individuals with a passion for conservation to develop their skills in management, leadership and advocacy. Fellows will have access to hands-on training, expert mentoring and networking opportunities with industry leaders.
The programme is open to young Africans with a background in environmental sciences, natural resource management or related fields. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to conservation, exceptional leadership skills and a desire to make a difference in their communities.
The selected fellows will take part in a comprehensive curriculum covering topics such as conservation planning and management, community engagement, policy advocacy and communication. They will also have the opportunity to work on ongoing conservation projects and collaborate with AWF partner organisations.
On completion of the programme, fellows will be equipped with the tools and confidence to take on leadership roles in conservation organisations, government agencies and local communities. They will become advocates for conservation, promoting sustainable practices and inspiring the next generation of environmental leaders.
AWF believes that young Africans have a crucial role to play in conserving the continent's rich natural heritage. The Charles R. Wall Conservation Leadership & Management Fellowship is an investment in the future of conservation in Africa, empowering young people to lead the way to a sustainable future.
