Pro Helvetia Johannesburg is launching an open call for the co-creation of new works between musicians based in the region and Switzerland.

The Confluences call seeks to enable a shared space for collaboration, creation and documentation of new work between musicians who have an existing creative relationship.

The call offers an opportunity to breathe new life into fragments, sketches, first ideas and unrealised synergies and possibilities generated through encounters between artists from these very different worlds in recent years. These may have been in the context of research trips, residencies and tours supported by Pro Helvetia or through completely independent initiatives.

Grants of up to CHF 10,000 are available to support the writing/development process, studio time, as well as mobility and associated expenses specific to each application.

Entries can be made by individual musicians, bands and groups.

We are looking for applications from musicians in Switzerland and in the region supported by Pro Helvetia Johannesburg, where there are significant evidence of a meaningful and existing collaborative relationship .

This call does not seek to enable new connections and relationships. Mechanisms established through research trips and residency calls that facilitate these possibilities are available on Pro Helvetia and can be accessed.

Confluences offers an opportunity to broaden the wealth of collaboration between musicians in Switzerland and the regions [countries listed below] addressed by Pro Helvetia Johannesburg, supporting connection, curiosity and innovation.
