The AgriPitch Competition aims to support African agricultural entrepreneurs by improving the bankability of their businesses and ensuring that they are "ready" for potential investors. The 2022 edition of AgriPitch will help contestants identify innovative solutions and develop ideas that contribute to strengthening Africa's food systems, mitigating the effects of gender marginalisation and improving sustainable nutrition across the continent. Held annually, the AgriPitch competition is a key activity of the Bank's Enable Youth Programme and also provides technical capacity building skills, as well as facilitating young people's access to finance.

This year, AgriPitch will provide training and guidance in an interactive and personalised two-week virtual bootcamp for candidates who advance in the competition.

AgriPitch 2022 semi-finalists will also present their business plans to potential investors in the AgriPitch business room, be eligible for one-to-one mentoring and access to the post-competition digital experience.

The AgriPitch competition is open to young Africans aged between 18 and 35 who work in the agricultural value chain. AgriPitch 2022 offers three competition categories: Early Start-ups (0-3 years in operation), Mature Start-ups (3 or more years in operation) and Women-Empowered Businesses (companies with at least 51% of participation by women or founded by a woman).
