The Instituto do Desporto e da Juventude (IDJ, I.P) would like to inform interested parties that it has opened a call for tenders for "Sports Initiation Scholarship (BID)"for the year 2024, under Ordinance no. 1/2024, legally constituted under Decree-Law no. 29/2019.

Applications must be submitted in accordance with the "Regulations for the Sports Initiation Grant Programme". until 12 March of the current year and can be made through the Eureka Platform, available on social networks and on the IDJ website. www.idj.cv.

The aim of the BID programme is to guarantee access to guided sports practice for all children and adolescents whose families do not have the necessary financial means, and to contribute to the stability and organisation of Sports Initiation Schools, promoting an environment conducive to the sporting development of practitioners.

The grant consists of a fixed monthly cash payment, corresponding to the practitioner's monthly fee, to the organisation responsible for their application, in accordance with the general conditions of sports practice previously established for all those enrolled, with a maximum ceiling of 2,000$00 and a minimum of 500$00 per grant holder, with a maximum limit of 20 (twenty) grant holders per EID/Club. For associations and formal sports initiation groups, the programme consists of awarding a kit of sports equipment appropriate to the players' sport.

The aim of this commitment to the training levels is to empower sports initiation schools and eliminate economic barriers that could prevent children and teenagers from accessing the sporting opportunities that exist in the country.

The initiative is in line with the government's mission to promote and generalise sport, recognising it as a crucial tool for social integration, socio-economic promotion, education and strengthening human relations.
