Registration for the International Illustration Competition "Art on Climate" 2024 are now open. The competition is inviting talented illustrators to create works of art that address the theme of climate change. The competition seeks to act as a platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and practical solutions to tackle climate change and inspire the public to proactively make a change in their daily lives in response to the global challenge.
Organised by Fingertips Company Limited and sponsored by Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), "Art on Climate" is a worldwide illustration competition designed to raise awareness of effective approaches to combating climate change.
Initially launched in Spain in 2019, the "Art on Climate" competition expanded its reach to the Asia-Pacific region in 2021 and to the global world in 2022. The 2023 campaign attracted huge participation, with more than 1,600 illustrators from over 100 locations submitting proposals. more than 2,800 outstanding works of art. This year, the competition continues its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, inviting established illustrators and aspiring students to demonstrate their skills and creativity, with the aim of broadening global awareness and inspiring meaningful action on climate change.
Theme
Participants are invited to submit original work on the theme "climate change" . Participants should draw inspiration from one or more of the following topics as a starting point for their work:
- Building communities resilient to climate change
As the impacts of climate change intensify, it is crucial to empower communities to adapt and resist the associated risks. Building resilient communities not only prepares us for the immediate impacts of climate change, but also equips us to face the uncertainty that lies ahead. - Defining planetary boundaries
It is crucial to define the environmental limits within which humanity must operate in order to guarantee the continued stability and health of our planet. By identifying and respecting these limits, we can take responsible action to prevent irreversible damage to ecosystems and the climate. - Promoting inclusive capitalism
It seeks to create a just and sustainable society by placing equal emphasis on financial returns and social impact. This approach encourages companies and investors to prioritise long-term value creation, environmental sustainability and social responsibility. By embracing inclusive capitalism, we can promote a more inclusive and equal future. - Adopting innovative solutions with technology
Technological innovation plays a key role in promoting sustainability and responding to the urgent challenges posed by climate change. With the help of advanced technology, we can inspire others to make proactive changes to our everyday practices and shape a better future. - Fight climate change with collective action
Collective action against climate change requires individuals, communities, companies, governments and international organisations to come together and work towards a common goal. By changing our lifestyles, sharing knowledge and resources and adopting sustainable practices, we can drive transformative change to mitigate climate change and create a sustainable future.
Prizes
- Champion: electronic certificate and prize of €2,000
- 1st place: electronic certificate and prize of €1,500
- 2nd place electronic certificate and €1,000 prize
- Merit: electronic certificate and prize of €150
Eligibility
- Anyone aged 18 or over on 19 May 2024, from any location, can take part.
Artwork specifications
- They must be original works relevant to the theme of the competition and presented by the participants individually.
- Each participant may submit a maximum of three works.
- The artwork submitted must not have been previously published or used for any other purpose, and must not have previously been awarded a prize or currently take part in other competition selections.
- No signatures, words, symbols or images identifying the participants may be placed on the work(s) submitted.
- The artwork(s) must be a flat image created in colour.
- Artworks can be created using any medium, including painting, computer software and mixed media. However, artworks generated by artificial intelligence are not accepted. The use of photographs and clip art is prohibited.
- It should be A3 size (297mm x 420mm), in horizontal or vertical format.
- It must be sent in JPG format, with a resolution of no less than 300 dpi, and the total size of each entry must not exceed 10 MB.
- Each work must be accompanied by a brief description (minimum 30 words, maximum 100 words).
