The Andrei Stenin International Press Photography Competition is open to participants aged 18 to 33. Its aim is to promote young photographers and support them in their pursuit of professional excellence.

The 2023 competition will feature four categories in which young photographers can compete for prizes:

  1. Main news. Significant events in the lives of individuals and nations as a whole are the main theme of entries in this category: major political and social events; accounts from war zones and places affected by natural disasters; decisive moments in people's lives.
  2. Sport. This category involves entries that capture moments in sports: athletes' victories and dramatic losses; daily sports training; the beauty of sporting competitions.
  3. My Planet. This category involves entries that reflect the full multicolored palette of themes and images from around the world. The author's task is to showcase a kaleidoscope of daily life in its timeless beauty and harmony, uniting scenes of everyday life; life in large and small cities; images of nature; ethnographic and religious holidays.
  4. Portrait. A Hero of Our Time. This category includes entries such as individual or group portraits of people. The photographs can be documentary or posed. The determining factor in this category is the author's ability to reveal the inner world of their subjects, to express their mental qualities and character through the uniqueness of their appearance and overall look.
