
A Community365 was at Black Panthers Youth Association, an organisation with 45 years of historylocated in Várzea, which uses the sport as a tool for social impact. During the visit, the president of the Cape Verde Olympic Academy, Orlando Mascarenhas, and the Licensing Manager, Silvana Cabral, presented the programme. Certification Programme for Organisations using Sport for Social Impactrecognising the inspiring work that this association does in the community.
Black Panthers: An Association with History and Purpose
Founded 31 December 1980Black Panthers has been promoting the football and handball (male and female), providing development opportunities for young talent and fostering values such as discipline, teamwork and inclusion.
In addition to the sporting aspect, the association plays a fundamental social role:
Generate a children's garden that welcomes 52 children in two shifts, ensuring affordable hot meals every day;
Manage a sports board for over 15 yearsHe also organises daily training sessions for young people in the community;
It is developing a project to create a football schooland reinforcing its impact on youth development.
