Applications are now open for the IUPAC-Richter Prize 2024 . The prize will be awarded to an internationally recognised scientist, preferably a medicinal chemist, whose activities or published reports have made an outstanding contribution to the practice of medicinal chemistry or to an outstanding example of the discovery of new medicines.
The Prize was established by a generous donation from Chemical Works by Gedeon Richter, Plc. (Budapest, Hungary) to recognise the fundamental role that medicinal chemistry plays in improving human health. The 2024 IUPAC-Richter Prize will be awarded during the XXVIII EFMC International Medicinal Chemistry Symposium (1-5 September 2024) in Rome, Italy and the winner will also give a lecture on the topic of their research at the 38th ACS National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium (23-26 June 2024) in Seattle, USA.
Prize
- A prize of US$ 10 thousand will be awarded.
Eligibility
- Open to an internationally recognised scientist, preferably a medicinal chemist.
- Applications are made by nomination, and only one person is required to serve in that capacity, although a total of five people should be listed additionally as references.
Appointment
The nomination pack must be sent via the online nomination form and must contain:
- a complete CV
- a professional biography of no more than two pages
- a one-page summary of what the individual considers to be their activities, achievements and/or publications that have had the most significant impact on the field of Medicinal Chemistry
The material will be forwarded confidentially to an independent selection committee appointed by the IUPAC Drug Discovery and Development Subcommittee.
