Registration for the CEZ/One Young World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 7 Applications are now open. Driving the sustainable future the world needs requires greater investment from governments and businesses, and the CEZ Group is committed to helping make this future a reality. The CEZ Group's vision is to introduce innovations to meet energy needs, hoping for a higher quality of life. That's why they are joining One Young World to launch this Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 7.
The challenge aims to identify and support youth-led businesses that are bridging the energy gap in the most energy-friendly countries and regions. They welcome solutions from young innovators that:
- Affordable energy provider for communities with limited access.
- Addressing the negative consequences of lack of access to energy. Examples of effects may include:
- To provide adequate sanitation services for energy-efficient areas.
- Solutions for transporting food or medicine from the automotive industry that can be effective in off-grid communities. Ensure that children with limited access to electricity receive a quality education.
- Providing clean alternative fuels for cooking.
Publicity
The winning solution will receive:
- Sponsorship to participate in the One Young World Summit 2023.
- A donation of US$$ 50,000 from the CEZ Group.
- 12 months of mentorship from a team of professionals at the CEZ Group. The mentorship team will work to accelerate your solution based on the needs of your initiative or organization.
Eligibility
- The solution must be clearly aligned with SDG7 challenge.
- Founded by a person aged between 18 and 30.
- A well-structured time horizon, key stakeholders and beneficiaries identified, and proposed outcomes that are reasonable and well thought out.
- The solution is readily available, being tested, implemented or scaled.
- Solutions should have a positive social impact, for example, by generating educational outcomes, employment opportunities, or developing skills.
- The impact of the solution on society must be adequately measured and/or measurable.
- They must be able to achieve efficiency and survive independently through the resources they generate and/or the investments and donations they attract.
- Potential to increase impact after expanding in scope or size and/or into other regions.
Application
The registration period will end on July 14, 2023. The winners of the challenge will be confirmed by August 11, 2023.
