The Unifor Social Justice Fund is a registered charity that is governed by the Social Justice Fund Board of Directors (which includes union leaders as well as prominent Canadians). The funds are negotiated during employers' collective bargaining, either on a cents per hour per worker basis or as a lump sum. In this way, workers signify that social justice is a fundamental priority and that, by working collectively, they can make a difference not only here in Canada, but around the world.

The main objective of Unifor's Social Justice Fund is to institutionalise its capacity as a union to respond to a variety of international issues through assistance humanitarian development and social justice.
Criteria
- The proposal should include:
- history of your organisation and the organisation you are working with,
- the general objectives of your project,
- the deadline for your work,
- what you hope to achieve with this project,
- general budget and the amount you are requesting from them.
- names of other groups/organisations that are funding the project (if any).
- Contact person with contact information, such as telephone number and/or fax number, e-mail address.
