The European Commission (EC) is keen to announce an open call to strengthen the Innovation Action (IA)
An Innovation Action (IA) within the framework of the Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking (KDT JU) consists mainly of activities aimed at introducing a technology or method, pilot lines, test beds, innovation pilots and full-scale test areas.
These activities produce plans and arrangements or designs for new, altered or improved products, processes, methods and tools or services. To this end, they may include prototyping, testing, demonstrating, piloting, large-scale product validation and market replication.
Fund Information
The total indicative EU budget for the topic is 20 million euros.
Activity
An IA proposal at KTD JU is characterised by one or more of the following elements:
- Execution by an industrial consortium that can be made up of large companies and SMEs but also includes universities, institutes and public organisations;
- Use of innovative technology;
- Establishment of a new and realistic innovation environment linked to an industrial environment, for example:
a) installation of a pilot line capable of manufacturing a full-scale test area;
b) development of new processes or tools and their introduction in various fields;
c) development of structures or platforms together with the use of these structures or platforms in innovative products.
d) The existence of a deployment plan leading to the creation of short- and medium-term economic value in Europe.
