Applications are now open for the Lester B. Pearson 2025 at the University of Toronto . The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships offer an unrivalled opportunity for outstanding international students to study at one of the world's best universities in one of the world's most multicultural cities.

The scholarship programme aims to recognise students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and creativity and who are recognised as leaders in their school. Special emphasis is placed on the impact the student has had on the life of their school and community, and on their future potential to contribute positively to the global community.

Awarded annually, these scholarships recognise outstanding students from around the world, including international students studying in Canadian secondary schools. This is U of T's most prestigious and competitive scholarship for international students.

Scholarships

• The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships will cover tuition, books, ancillary fees and full residency support for four years. The scholarship is only valid at the University of Toronto for first-entry undergraduate programmes. Each year, approximately 37 students will be named Lester B. Pearson Scholars.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Pearson International Scholarship, you must:

• an international student (i.e. a non-Canadian who needs a study permit);
• enrolled in the final year of secondary school in 2024/2025 or did not graduate before June 2024
• start their studies at the University of Toronto in September 2025 (students already pursuing post-secondary studies cannot be considered; students starting their post-secondary studies in January 2025 at another post-secondary institution cannot be considered).

Application

To enrol, you will need

• Get a referral from your school.  Secondary schools that have not yet been contacted/verified are invited to submit an application to take part in the programme, available here.  High schools that took part in the previous year will receive access to the nomination from 1 July 2024.
• Apply to study at the University of Toronto  by 18 October 2024 to begin your studies in September 2025. Please be aware that you will be considered for the Pearson Scholarship for your first choice of programme at U of T. You may apply to several programmes and may be offered admission to all of them; however, the Pearson Scholarship, if awarded to you, will be restricted to your first choice of programme at U of T at the time our scholarship decisions are made.
• Once they have received a nomination and you have enrolled at the university, you can complete the online application for the Lester B. Pearson scholarship until 8 November 2024.
