How to apply

The application process has two stages. To be considered for funding, applicants must meet all the eligibility criteria and complete the two steps described below by the deadline the scholarship to 23.59 (GMT) of Wednesday 1st March 2023 .

Step 1:  submit an application for 2023-24 for a master's study programme in London , according to the instructions in the 'How to apply' tab on the relevant study programme page.

Step 2:  Submit a scholarship application online by selecting this scholarship option '2023-24 GSK Scholarship for Future Health Leaders' from the drop-down menu. A Supplementary Questions Form completed for this scholarship must be uploaded as part of this application. This is the unique attachment required at Stage 2 (as applicants must have already sent references; transcripts; a CV, etc. with their application to study).

Application notes

  • Applicants are advised to complete Stage 1 in advance to allow payment of the GBP 50.00 LSHTM application fee to be processed. Until payment is processed, applicants will not be able to submit a study application. We therefore recommend that applicants for this funding complete and submit their study application at least 1-2 weeks before the scholarship deadline to ensure that there are no admissions or payment processing delays that may affect meeting the scholarship deadline. (Where possible, we encourage applicants to submit a complete study application as far in advance of the scholarship deadline as possible to allow for timely processing).
  • Each candidate must send just one application for GSK Fellowships for Future Leaders in Healthcare for 2023-24. We therefore encourage applicants to check their online application and attachment carefully before submission, as the first application submitted will be considered and there will be no opportunity to upload the Supplementary Questions Form after submission.
  • Applicants who have already submitted a completed London Masters form for 2023-24 and/or received an offer of admission should apply for the scholarship by completing only the scholarship form (Step 2 above) and sending it in by the scholarship deadline.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered for this funding. Incomplete applications include those with missing supplementary documentation in one/both of Stages 1 and 2 above. Both the study application and the scholarship application must be completed by the scholarship deadline. Applicants must ensure that all necessary supplementary documents (including references) are submitted via the LSHTM Admissions Portal by the scholarship deadline.
  • These scholarships are open to applicants for any of the 19 intensive non-distance master's programmes offered by LSHTM (including our joint programmes: MSc Global Mental Health; MSc Health Policy, Planning & Financing; MSc One Health; MSc Veterinary Epidemiology). Please note that for the following programmes, you will be directed to the joint provider to complete your application to study, as LSHTM does not manage admissions for these courses: MSc Global Mental Health; MSc One Health: ecosystems, humans and animals; MSc Veterinary Epidemiology.
  • Applicants whose application to study is successful will be asked to pay a deposit within 28 days of the offer of admission being sent. Applicants who apply for scholarships at LSHTM must email the admissions team to let them know that they are awaiting the outcome of the scholarship (applicants must provide the admissions team with the name of the scholarship and the expected decision date in this email). This must be repeated for all the applications for which the applicant has applied. The Admissions team will extend the deposit deadline to coincide with the scholarship funding decision deadline.
  • Applicants who encounter technical difficulties when using the online scholarship application form should firstly try to clear their browser cache and ensure that they are using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari. If this does not resolve the technical problem, please contact LSHTM's IT services team, providing the applicant's full name; the scholarship they are applying for; and the technical problem encountered.
