The University of Edinburgh will offer twenty master's scholarships for eligible part-time distance learning master's programmes offered by the University.
Prize
Each scholarship will cover the full cost of the course and will be valid for the normal duration of the study programme.
Eligibility
The scholarships will be available to students starting any part-time online master's programme offered by the University in the 2024-2025 session.
Note that only study programmes that are at Descriptor Level 11 of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) may be considered for this scholarship. Some study programmes may have 'Master' in their title, but are at SCQF Descriptor Level 12, for example Master in Surgery (ChM) and are therefore not eligible for this scholarship.

The countries eligible for this grant are based on the categories 'Least Developed Countries', 'Other Low Income Countries' and 'Lower Middle Income Countries', as declared by the Organisation for Economic Corporation and Development Assistance Committee. Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or intended to do so.
Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the strength of a personal statement. Priority will be given to those who have not previously had the opportunity to study at master's level.
Applying
Applicants will be asked to include the following in their personal statement: In your personal statement, please include: (a) the specific elements of this programme that attracted you to the University of Edinburgh; (b) confirm the extent to which successful completion of this programme will benefit your career and personal development and (c) how it will enable you to contribute to your community/region or country?
Eligible candidates must complete an online scholarship application.
The deadline for the scholarship is 23:59 BST, Monday 3 June 2024.
To gain access to the scholarship application system, applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh. Please note that after submitting an application for admission, it can take up to five working days for all system checks to be completed and for access to be granted.

Notification
