If you are at least 18 years old on 20 July 2024 and work, volunteer or study in the field of HIV, you can apply for an AIDS 2024 scholarship, the 25th International AIDS Conference The scholarship also supports participation in the AIDS 2024 pre-conferences, which take place in Munich, Germany, and virtually from 22 to 26 July. The grant also supports participation in the AIDS 2024 pre-conferences, which take place on 21 and 22 July at the conference venue.
The programme supports individuals who contribute to the conference programme, as well as candidates who can demonstrate that they will transfer the skills and knowledge acquired at the conference to the work they do in their own organisations and communities.

Financial aid
The IAS - International AIDS Society - will be awarding face-to-face and virtual scholarships for AIDS 2024. Please indicate your preferred type of attendance in your application, as well as the types of financial support required to participate. Please note that given the high demand, they may not be able to award full or face-to-face scholarships to all successful applicants.
In-Person Service
- Registration for face-to-face and virtual attendance (access to all sessions at the conference venue, as well as access to the virtual platform).
- Travel support (pre-paid return economy class ticket from the nearest international airport to your country of residence) for the dates of the conference and pre-conferences.
- Accommodation (single room in a budget hotel), during the conference and pre-conferences.
- Daily subsistence allowance during the conference and pre-conferences.

Eligibility
Open to anyone who will be at least 18 on 20 July 2024 and works, volunteers or studies in the field of HIV.
The following candidates will be prioritised:
- Abstract presenters; workshop facilitators and co-facilitators; and Global Village organisers and co-organisers whose application has been selected for the conference.
- Candidates from low- and lower-middle-income countries.
- Candidates who are part of key populations and people living with HIV.
- Young people and junior researchers under 35.
- Applicants who have not previously received a scholarship for an International AIDS Conference.
Application
To apply, eligible candidates will have to answer questions about their background, experience and motivation for attending the conference. They will have to upload a letter of recommendation, which should:
- Be written in English by a manager or colleague who is familiar with your work, voluntary experience or HIV studies and who can be your referee
- Include a letterhead from your referee's organisation, company or institution
- Be dated within two months of submitting your entry and signed (original or digital signature) by your referee
- Explicitly reference you and support your application for an AIDS 2024 scholarship, explaining why you would be a good candidate for the scholarship
